We are seeking a skilled and experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People & Culture team in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for fostering a positive, fair, and legally compliant workplace across a fast-paced, multi-site retail organization operating across the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico.
The Employee Relations Specialist will manage workplace investigations, support employee relations cases, and partner closely with HR leadership, Legal, and Investigations teams to ensure consistent application of company policies and employment law while mitigating organizational risk.
What You’ll Do
Manage employee relations cases from intake through resolution across Retail, Warehouse, and Support Center teams
Conduct timely, objective, and thorough workplace investigations in partnership with Legal and internal Investigations stakeholders
Partner with Legal and HR leadership on complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations matters
Document investigation findings, case details, and recommendations in alignment with company policy and legal guidance
Support managers with coaching on performance management, corrective action, and employee engagement
Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies across all locations
Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation in HR systems and case management tools
Assist with unemployment claims responses and supporting documentation as needed
Identify trends and partner with HR leadership to recommend proactive solutions that improve culture and reduce risk
Ensure all employee relations practices are aligned with employment law and internal compliance standards
What We’re Looking For
3–6 years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, or HR Operations roles
Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace investigations, and HR best practices
Experience in retail, warehouse/distribution, or multi-site environments strongly preferred
Proven experience partnering with Legal teams and conducting workplace investigations
Strong communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience with HRIS systems and case management tools preferred
