Graduate Accountant Opportunity: 

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Banking Team in Finance.

This graduate accountant will play a critical role in the Banking team by helping to prepare store banking reconciliations, Retail Operations reporting and month-end journals. This role will own several regions within APAC. The Global banking team consists of 10 members with opportunity to learn global practices and cross currency exposure.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

Daily banking tasks may include:

• Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of:
  • Daily Banking Functions & reporting
  • Daily Banking reconciliations for stores
  • Daily Missed banking reporting
  • Weekly Cash variance reporting
  • Variance investigations and missing with Loss Prevention team
  • Weekly Petty Cash expenditure reporting
  • Weekly upload of bank statement into Oracle
  • Weekly AP payment reconciliations in Oracle
  • Monthly Gift voucher liability reconciliations and reporting
• Month-end functions & reporting
  • Monthly Bank account reconciliations
  • Monthly till difference journals
  • Monthly cash-in-transit reconciliations and accounting
  • Monthly Cash Clearing account reconciliations
  • Monthly Trade Creditors clearing accounting and reconciliations
  • All other relevant Monthly asset and liability reconciliations relating to banking in country
• Exposure to Auditors at all periods of external reporting
• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree with Accounting or Finance major
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Oracle Fusion experience (not mandatory)
• Experience with Microsoft office products
• An understanding of core accounting principles, P&L, Balance sheets
• An ability to demonstrate Leadership within team, show initiative and an ability to process improve
