The Opportunity - 12 Months Fixed
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments while delivering an excellent service experience to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· End‑to‑end Accounts Payable processing for trade and sundry creditors, including overseas suppliers
· Review, validate and upload stock and freight invoices for payment
· Source invoice approvals, code invoices accurately and manage due dates to avoid late fees
· Prepare and manage EFT payment runs
· Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox and respond to internal and external queries
· Process team expense reimbursements
· Perform supplier account reconciliations as required
· Support month‑end activities, including:
o Responding to queries from the wider Finance team across multiple regions
o Reviewing aged creditors reports and addressing overdue items
o Assisting with audit requests
· Contribute to business process improvement initiatives
· Provide back‑up and support across the Finance team as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
· A Bachelor of Commerce, Business or related degree (or currently studying)
· Minimum 2 years’ Accounts Payable experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
· Experience working with multiple currencies
· Intermediate Excel skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications
· Experience using finance systems (Oracle highly regarded)
· Retail accounting experience (desirable)
