At Lovisa, we move fast, grow fast and expect our teams to take ownership. We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our People & Talent team and support the delivery of HR and Payroll compliance audits.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident working with a variety of stakeholders at different levels. The role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of audit cycles, ensuring audits are completed accurately, risks are identified, and remediation is followed through to completion.
About the Role
As the Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and executing global compliance audit activity across HR and Payroll processes. You will work closely with the HR Functional Excellence Manager, HR teams, the UKG team and key stakeholders to ensure audits are completed accurately and actions are followed through.
This role requires someone who is proactive, confident and comfortable pushing for access, answers and outcomes. You do not need to be a legal compliance expert, but you do need strong HR, payroll or compliance experience, sound judgement, and the ability to identify compliance gaps, prepare structured findings and support timely outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and execute compliance audit cycles across HR and Payroll processes.
Conduct spot audits and pulse audits across global markets.
Partner with HR teams, Payroll, UKG and business stakeholders to access information and complete audit activity.
Review documentation, reporting and process outputs to identify gaps, risks and inconsistencies.
Compile audit results and document clear findings.
Translate findings into practical corrective action plans.
Track remediation actions and follow up until completion.
Escalate risks, overdue items or access issues as required.
Support continuous improvement of audit frameworks, templates and reporting.
Handle confidential HR and payroll information with a high level of discretion.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in HR, payroll, compliance, audit, governance or a related role.
Experience with payroll audits, HR audits, WHS audits, governance audits, ATO audits or general business auditing will be highly regarded.
Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident stakeholder management skills.
Ability to challenge stakeholders professionally and follow up until outcomes are achieved.
Comfortable learning and working with new systems.
A proactive, curious and self-starting approach.
High level of confidentiality, integrity and discretion.
What Will Make You Successful
You will be someone who takes ownership and is not afraid to follow up, ask questions and push for the information needed to complete the job properly. You may need some guidance at times, but you will be confident taking the first step and working through problems.
You will be structured, process-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
What’s in it for You
Broad exposure to compliance audit activity and cross-functional stakeholders.
High-impact role within the People & Talent team.
Opportunity to work closely with HR leadership and global stakeholders.
Exposure to HR systems, payroll processes and compliance frameworks.
A role where you can help improve processes and drive meaningful outcomes.
Please Note
This role is based at our Melbourne Support Centre in Hawthorn and is a 5-days-in-office role.
If you are highly organised, confident with stakeholders and ready to take ownership of global compliance audit activity, we would love to hear from you.
