Senior Financial Accountant (12-month maternity leave cover)

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a hands-on role supporting the financial reporting, compliance and governance of the Lovisa Group. You’ll work across a broad range of financial accounting activities, with exposure to group reporting, statutory compliance, external audit, tax, cash flow and month-end.
This is a great opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with a wider finance team and taking ownership of high-quality financial reporting.
About the Role:
Support the preparation of Full Year and Half Year financial reporting for the ASX-listed parent company, including consolidations and note disclosures
Assist with the preparation and lodgment of statutory financial statements and tax returns for group entities
Prepare tax-effect accounting entries and supporting workpapers
Support the external audit process at both group and local level, including audit documentation, sample preparation and follow-up queries
Assist with forecasting and the day-to-day management of group cash flow and currency requirements
Support the management of the Group’s insurance program
Assist with company secretarial requirements for group subsidiary companies in conjunction with external advisers
Support store licensing applications and ongoing compliance requirements
Prepare month-end accounting for equity transactions, accruals and prepayments
Assist with month-end reporting and review of financial results
Prepare and/or review general ledger reconciliations
Provide financial analysis and support across ad hoc projects as required
What We’re Looking For:
You’ll be a confident and commercially minded finance professional with strong technical accounting capability and excellent attention to detail.
You’ll ideally bring:
CA or CPA qualification
Strong financial accounting and analytical skills
Experience with statutory and financial reporting
Strong understanding of month-end processes and general ledger reconciliations
Experience supporting external audits
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to analyse data and identify opportunities for process improvement
A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider Finance team
Intermediate Excel skills
Experience using finance systems, ideally including Oracle
Retail accounting experience is desirable but not essential
